London: With a pandemic raging outside, all we’re on the lookout for these days are home remedies for a myriad of problems that we may face on a daily. One of those is problematic skin, and according to The Indian Express, there’s one easily available ingredient in your kitchen that may turn into your skincare favorite during the next few months! We’re talking about kalonji or Nigella seeds! Readily found at homes across South Asia, these magic seeds have a ton of benefits, one of which is that it’s excellent for the skin!

Popular as black seed oil, the nigella Sativa oil is known for its anti-bacterial properties that fight and eliminate impurities, which means that the seeds are mega useful in the fight against acne! They can also help to improve the texture of your skin, among other things.

You can grind the seeds into a fine powder which can then be used as a scrub to get your pores squeaky clean and remove all gunk from the face. You will need one teaspoon of each of the kalonji powder and milk. Mix them thoroughly and then proceed to apply them to the face and neck. Massage gently and then wash it off with normal water! It’s really that easy.

Kalonji is also extremely beneficial for oily skin and if you’re someone struggling with post-acne scarring, it can be a cult favorite! Use one teaspoon of kalonji powder, one teaspoon of lemon peel powder, and half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

ACV is a known astringent, however, when used with kalonji and lemon peel powder, it helps to balance the pH scale of the skin. Apply a little bit on the face, especially the affected areas, and then wash off with normal water.
